First Time Booking a Game Truck? Start Here.
At JB Mobile Game Truck, we’ve helped hundreds of first-timers throw unforgettable parties without the overwhelm. Whether you’re a parent juggling 12 RSVPs or a teacher planning a reward day, we’ll walk you through every step.
This event rental booking guide is here to take the stress out of planning and help you avoid that “am I missing something?” feeling.
What You Need to Know Before Booking
First things first—booking a party truck isn’t like calling a bounce house or ordering pizza. It’s simpler, but there are a few key things to check off before you reach out.
Start with your date.
Saturdays fill up fast, especially during spring and fall. If you’re eyeing a weekend spot, aim for at least 3–4 weeks out—earlier if possible.
Think about your location.
Our truck needs a fairly level space to park—a driveway, school lot, or church parking area all work great. If you’re not sure your space will work, just call us at 630-441-8826 and ask! We’ll help troubleshoot ahead of time.
Know your guest count.
Our setup can handle up to 16 players at once, so whether it’s a small birthday or a full class party, we’ve got you covered. (And yes, we keep things fair—our game coach makes sure everyone gets a turn.)
Feeling overwhelmed already? Don’t worry. We offer party setup services that include everything from entertainment to game management, so you can actually enjoy the day instead of running it.
Step-by-Step: Your Ultimate Event Rental Booking Guide
You’ve got a party to plan—and not just any party. You want something epic. Easy. Maybe even a little legendary. You don’t just want to throw a party; you want to create a full-blown experience.
Here are some step-by-step party setup instructions that’ll smooth out the entire process:
1. Pick Your Party Type
The first step in any good event planning guide for beginners is simple: know your crowd.
From our booking page, you’ll start by selecting the kind of event you’re hosting:
- Birthday Parties & Family Events: Turn your driveway into the best game zone on the block. Great for birthdays, family parties, or just because.
- School, Church & Non-Profit Events: Perfect for school field days, youth group nights, and fundraising events that need something actually fun.
- Corporate Events & Family Reunions: Built for big groups and rotating players. From team-building to backyard BBQs, we’ve got your crowd covered.
This helps us tailor the experience and recommend the right party setup instructions based on your goals.
2. Choose Your Package
Alright, now let’s talk party time. Whether you’re keeping it small or going big, we’ve got packages that flex to fit your crew, your budget, and your energy level.
Standard Party Packages
- 1 Hour – $400 – Short and sweet (but still packed with action)
- 1.5 Hours – $450 – Just enough time to let everyone get their game on
- 2 Hours – $500 – Our most popular pick—max fun, zero rush
Every package includes:
- A climate-controlled game truck (yes, comfy in all seasons)
- Space for up to 16 players at once
- Five HD screens inside
- The latest consoles: PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch + Switch 2
- A huge multiplayer game library
- Your own game coach to keep things running smoothly
Planning for a crowd?
Our Group Event Setup starts at $750—ideal for schools, churches, fundraisers, or company events. We know how to handle larger groups and keep a rotating schedule going to make sure everyone gets a turn.
3. Add Extras to Boost the Experience
This is where your party rental checklist gets fun. Want to turn a great party into a legendary one? These add-ons do the trick—just be sure to lock them in when you book:
Sim Car Outdoor Setup – $100
Full racing setup under a weatherproof canopy. It gives you even more space to play with and keeps the party going inside and outside the truck.
Outdoor Gaming Add-On – $75
Switch Sports or Just Dance on a giant screen—perfect for dance-offs, group play, or just burning off cake energy. ( You always want to include burning off energy in a party rental checklist; we’ll tell you that much.
Chairs & Tables
- Chairs: $2 each
- Tables: $10 each
Handy for food tables, gift stations, or a shady seat for Grandma. (Bonus: we set them up for you.)
Heads-up: These extras are popular and limited—if you want them, add them at checkout. We can’t guarantee availability on party day.
4. Check the Live Calendar
If you’ve been Googling “how to book event rentals,” here’s your answer: just click a date.
Our real-time calendar shows all open slots. If it’s clickable, it’s bookable. No back-and-forth emails or guesswork.
Pro tip from our party planning timeline: weekends fill fast—book at least 2–4 weeks out, especially during summer or holidays.
Once you click your time, submit your request. No payment is needed right away. You’ll receive a confirmation email once we review and approve your details.
5. Customize the Setup
This is where the event setup process goes from generic to custom-made, because here, you’ll tell us exactly who and how we’re celebrating.
- Birthday star’s name and age (so we can make them feel like the VIP they are)
- Headcount—how many players are we prepping for? 10? 40? It helps us manage the fun.
- Parking info—we need 55 feet of level curb space, like an RV. Driveways? Usually a no-go.
- Game rating preferences—is your crew cool with M-rated games, or do we keep it family-friendly?
- Special notes—gate codes, shy birthday kid, and sensory needs—are all welcome.
- Photo/social media consent—totally optional, but if you’re cool with us sharing the fun, we love giving shoutouts.
This quick form helps us show up ready, so you don’t have to stress over how to set up for a party. We’ve got it. Photo/social media consent—totally optional, but if you’re cool with us sharing the fun, we love giving shoutouts.
6. Final Details & Confirmation
Now we’ll grab the basics: your name, email, phone number, and party address. After that, you’ll see a summary of your booking: package, extras, and any travel fee that might apply (if you’re more than 10 miles from Hoffman Estates, IL).
7. Secure Your Spot
Now that you’ve picked your package, date, and add-ons, all you need to do is make it official. We’ll send you a payment link where you can drop a 50% deposit to lock in your reservation.
Not ready to pay all at once? Just call or email us. We know planning a party is expensive, and we’re happy to work out a plan that fits your needs. Just keep in mind that your date won’t be confirmed until that deposit is in. We just can’t hold spots without it, especially on weekends.
It just wouldn’t be fair for the rest.

FAQ's
Do you charge a travel fee for nearby towns?
If you’re in or around Bartlett, you’re golden. No extra charge within 10 miles of our home base in Hoffman Estates. A little farther out? We do add a small travel fee to cover gas and time, but it’s all upfront and super clear during booking. No sneaky add-ons. Promise.
Do we need to set anything up before you arrive?
Not a thing. We bring the truck, the games, the power—everything. Just make sure there’s room to park (more on that below), and maybe keep an outlet handy if you’ve got outdoor add-ons. Otherwise, your job is to relax while we get the party set.
How much space do you need to park the truck?
Picture the size of an RV—we need about 55 feet of flat curb space. That’s usually two to three car lengths. Driveways are tricky (and often too sloped), so street parking is usually best. Not sure? Send us a photo or Google Maps link, and we’ll help you figure it out.
Is the game truck good for older kids or teens?
Oh yeah. We’ve got Call of Duty, NBA 2K, Smash Bros., Fortnite, you name it—and a coach who knows how to keep things competitive but chill. We’ve even had teens running mini-tournaments inside while the parents sneak snacks and pretend they’re not jealous.
What’s the cancellation or rescheduling policy?
We get it—stuff happens. If you need to move your date, just reach out and we’ll find a new one that works (as long as it’s open). Cancellations? Deposits are non-refundable, but we’re super flexible about rescheduling if you give us a heads-up. We want you to still get your party, even if life throws a curveball.
